Williamsburg man sentenced to five years in prison

James A. Anderson, 47, of Williamsburg, pled guilty to one count of Possession of a Handgun by Convicted Felon and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance – First Degree, First Offense (Methamphetamine) in Whitley Circuit Court on Wednesday, July 13.

According to a release from Williamsburg Police Department, the department’s investigation reflected that Anderson was charged with murder in 2008 and later pled guilty to an amended charge of manslaughter in 2010.

In 2022, Anderson possessed methamphetamine and stole a handgun, which was eventually recovered and returned to its rightful owner.

As a result, Anderson was sentenced to five years in prison for the two cases.
