Williamsburg Independent evacuates after a potential bomb threat

As of 11 a.m. - Williamsburg Police Department is on scene at the Williamsburg Independent School investigating a bomb threat on Tuesday, March 8.

"The building has been searched and no hazardous or explosives devices were found," according to WPD on Facebook.

Mayor Roddy Harrison also confirmed all students have been evacuated and sent home.

"The safe spaces are cleared and just to make sure, after all the kids are gone, we're going to do a complete inspection but everything looks good," said Harrison.

First responders with Whitley County EMS and Williamsburg FD are also on scene.

WPD officers continue to investigate.
