Two patrolmen with the Corbin Police Department submitted their resignations Monday at April’s regular Corbin Commissioners meeting.
In a resignation letter, Patrolman Brentley Patrick told the commissioners he decided to resign “due to personal and financial circumstances," and he wishes to seek more time with family as well as higher compensation elsewhere.
While Patrolman William Stewart told commissioners, “After many months of consideration and prayer, I respectfully announce my two weeks notice for the city of Corbin,” He added, “I have fulfilled a childhood dream of being employed as a patrolman of the city of Corbin where I grew up.” Stewart added, “I will always appreciate the experience and knowledge I gained during my time here.”
The commissioners approved the resignation of both patrolmen, to which all unanimously voted yes.
