The South Laurel Lady Cardinals flexed their muscle early in the 13th Region Tournament as they blasted out of the gate and cruised to a 66-28 victory over Barbourville.
The Lady Cardinals came out on fire and grabbed a 22-6 advantage at the end of the first quarter, but they put on an offensive clinic in the second quarter as they outscored the Lady Tigers 36-4 to take a 58-10 cushion at the half.
Ciana Collins put on a show for South Laurel as she poured in 22 points, grabbed six rebounds, and blocked three shots. Collins connected on six of eight from the three-point range. Shelbie Mills scored 10 points and dished out three assists for the Lady Cardinals.
The Lady Tigers had two players in double figures as Brianna Gallagher led the way with 17 points and six rebounds, while Aimee Kate Woolum added 10 points on the night.
