Season 19 of American Idol launched Alex Miller’s country music career in 2021. Since then, he has made special appearances on stage with country music stars like Hank Williams Jr. and Josh Turner.
Now, he has made a special appearance in downtown Corbin, Ky.
On May 28, Miller visited the Original KFC (Sanders Café and Museum) to film a video for “a good friend of his," singer and American Idol judge Katy Perry, to show her some of the things Kentuckians are best known for.
Miller said Perry has been staying in Kentucky while her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, films “Red Right Hand."
The movie was filmed in Campbellsburg, New Castle, and around Jefferson County.
So Miller thought he would introduce her to some things in the Bluegrass state. KFC is one of those!
“Well I know California girls got to love themselves some Kentucky Fried Chicken so you need to come check out the first KFC in Corbin, Ky,” he told Perry.
Miller also introduced Perry to Churchill Downs in Louisville, the Jim Beam distillery in Clermont, and the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame & Museum in Mt. Vernon.
When The Kentucky Daily asked Miller about his visit to Corbin, he said, “If there is such a thing as the Salt of the Earth then Corbin, Kentucky would be the bucket it came from!,” he added. “Everyone I’ve ever met from there has been so nice and kind to me.”

Will Alex Miller make another special appearance in Corbin anytime soon?
“As far as I know I don’t have any shows in the area, but would love to come play there at some point!”
