Although Christmas is over, the city of Corbin has found a way to utilize at least one Christmas decoration for a greater cause.
For the first time, Santa’s House in Nibroc Park has transitioned into Santa’s Coat Closet.
A clothing rack and several hangers were placed inside so that those who want to donate a coat may leave behind a gently worn or new one OR those who maybe can’t afford one are welcome to take one.
Santa’s Coat Closet is located on Main Street in downtown Corbin and will be available through the entire month of January starting today, Jan. 5.
Hours of operation will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
“We know that it will soon turn unbearably cold,” said Corbin Tourism Director Maggy Monhollen. “So It is our hope to keep folks warm this winter.”
