Police release identity of pedestrian struck, killed in Knox County

Kentucky State Police (KSP) say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Knox County on Saturday night, January 14.

Knox County dispatch requested assistance from KSP Post 10 on Ky 3439 near Higgin Hollow in Barbourville at approximately 6:28 p.m.

Initial investigation indicates a 2010 Dodge Ram driven by Phillip Cox was traveling north on KY 3439 when he struck a pedestrian who was walking in the road.

The pedestrian was identified as Brandon T. Warren, 24, of Barbourville.

Warren was transported from the scene to Barbourville ARH for his life-threatening injuries by Knox County EMS.

He was pronounced deceased by Knox County Deputy Coroner Brian Senters at 7:35 p.m.

KSP Det. Jake Middleton continues to investigate.
