Operation UNITE, Knox Sheriff’s Dept join forces to stop drug trafficking

Knox County Sheriff’s deputies recently joined forces with Operation UNITE to conduct an undercover investigation.

On January 18, four individuals were arrested on felony drug charges of trafficking in controlled substance/methamphetamine.

• William F. Grey, 44, of Barbourville. - charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance -First Degree/ Methamphetamine.

• Tonya R. Grubb -  40, of Bimble - charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance-First Degree/ Methamphetamine.

•Georgia A. Riley/Davis, 31, of Gray - charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance-First Degree/ Methamphetamine.

• Jonathon Patterson -  41, of Hinkle - charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance-First Degree/ Methamphetamine.

During the arrest, Patterson attempted to flee on foot. He also had a plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine, a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana, two suspected suboxone tablets, and a syringe.

Patterson was then charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance-First Degree, Trafficking in Marijuana-under eight ounces, Prescription Controlled Substance not in Proper Container, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Fleeing or Evading Police- Second Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Resisting Arrest and Menacing.
