One person killed and three injured after a crash in Laurel County

One person has died, and three others are seriously injured after a crash on KY-1394 in Laurel County on Wednesday.

According to a release from Laurel County Sheriff John Root, the crash happened at 3:50 p.m., seven miles north of London. Only one white Ford SUV was involved in the crash.

The release stated the white SUV crashed through a fence, traveled down an embankment, flipped, and ejected some of its passengers.

Jodie Bennett, 18, of London, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two were ejected from the SUV, while two were trapped inside when the SUV flipped.

Three of the passengers were transported by helicopter to UK Medical Center.

Authorities report one had serious life-threatening injuries, two had serious injuries, and one was uninjured.
