The Lynn Camp Wildcats made an impressive run to the 13th Region Basketball Tournament last season, and Micah Engle is one of the biggest reasons for their success. The senior guard is ready to run it back one more time before he graduates.
“I am extremely excited to start my senior season,” Engle said. “It’s my last time in high school and I can’t wait to make it special and make it memorable for me and my teammates,”
Engle will be without his former teammate, Gavin Allen, who graduated last season. Engle knows it is time for him to step up to fill that void.
“It will definitely be different without Gavin,” Engle said. “Gavin has always been right there with me, but now I have to step up and get more rebounds to better our team.”
Engle admitted that he has a whole new focus for this season, considering it will be his last in a high school uniform.
“I’m definitely approaching it differently knowing these are my last games in high school and I can’t wait to get on the floor,” Engle said. “My team will be as good as we want to be as long as we all work hard, together, and strive to get better.”
The Wildcats have several younger guys that will be looked at to step up this season, but Engle has confidence that things will come together. He also spoke about his team and individual goals.

“We have some new ones that are filling roles, but everything will fill out,” Engle said. “My team goals would be to win district and region and have a winning season. My personal goals are to be the best teammate that I can be and continue to better myself and others.”
Engle said he wanted to be remembered for more than just what he does on the court.
“I want to be remembered by both basketball and in the classroom,” he said. “I want to be remembered for how I worked in both settings.”
