In memory of the late District 2 Magistrate Stacey Roark, Knox County Judge-Executive Mike Mitchell swore in Roark's wife, Tina, on Monday, February 21. Tina will serve out the rest of her husband's magistrate term, which will end December 31, 2022.
"It was Stacey's wish for his wife Tina to serve out the remainder of his term," said Judge-Executive Mike Mitchell. "We're researching on this still, but this could possibly be the first woman to serve in this capacity. She's been helping Stacey all along through his sickness." Mitchell added, "I look forward to working with her."
Roark was appointed to the position by Governor Andy Beshear.
