Madison Central hands North Laurel its second loss of the season

The North Laurel Jaguars knew they had their hands full as they hosted Madison Central on Tuesday, March 22, and they were as they suffered a 7-0 defeat to fall to 3-2 on the season.

Matt Jones took the mound for the Indians and picked up the victory. He allowed six hits in five innings and walked one batter, but his defense held strong. Jones also turned in a solid offensive performance going 2 for 3 from the plate.

North Laurel’s Eli Sizemore took the loss as he also allowed six hits in five innings but gave up four runs. Sizemore was solid from behind the plate, going 2 for 4 with a stolen base.

Corey Broughton went 2 for 3 from the plate, while Chase Keen and Kyler Elza both added a hit for North Laurel.

The Jaguars will hit the road for three straight games. They travel to Hazard on Friday, followed by a trip to Harlan County on Saturday, and finish up with a trip to Whitley County on Monday, March 28.

Madison Central improved to 4-1 and will travel to Scott County on Wednesday, March 23.
