London's own Laurel Lewis to perform at Heritage Hills Theater

London-Laurel County Tourism and Music Journalist Jessica Blankenship are partnering up to host the first-ever Heritage Music Series at Heritage Hills Theater on March 4 and March 11 in London.

The event will feature special performances by Grayson Jenkins, Laurel Lewis, Cole Chaney, and Lance Rogers.

Featured on the music lineup is professional Americana singer Laurel Lewis. Lewis said, "I'm from right here in London and I'm so excited to come back home and perform for the Heritage Music Series!"

Lewis has traveled all around the country sharing her music, and she's even had the opportunity to perform alongside artists Tyler Childers, Rodney Crowell, Billy Strings, and Ian Noe, just to name a few. Now she lives in Nashville, where she writes her songs and records her own original lyrics.

"I write honest and raw lyrics that tell stories. For a long time, I wrote songs to deal with my anxiety and depression," said Lewis. "But now, my songwriting has evolved to telling others' stories. It's not about me anymore. I like to create images in my head and picture them as movies and write along as I go. That's the artistic version - the more accurate way to put that is I'll be eating a salad or at the mall and drop everything I'm doing to write a song then and there."

Lewis said she is lucky enough to pursue a music career full-time.

"I've been blessed to go around the country sharing my music with people," said Lewis. "A lot of 'behind-the-scenes' work goes into being a professional musician but in terms of my aspirations - I've got some things in the works that haven't officially been announced so keep up with me on my social media and you all will be the first to know!"

Lewis noted the Heritage Hill Music Series is going to be a night of storytelling and intimate music. "No pomp and frills," she said.

Tickets are still available for $10 each, and if you purchase a ticket for both the March 4 and March 11 show, you will receive a free autographed poster signed by all the artists.
