The Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats started their Spring Break in Myrtle Beach, SC, with a tough 5-4 loss to Boyd County in the Cal Ripken Experience on Monday, April 4.
After getting off to a good start, the Lady Cats gave up two big runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, costing them the game. The loss drops them to 10-2 on the season.
After taking an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, Lynn Camp found themselves trailing Lady Lions 3-2. The Lady Cats bounced back on top with two runs in the top of the sixth inning to take a 4-3 advantage.
Boyd County held Lynn Camp to only three hits in the loss. Charity Steele led the Cats with an RBI single. Olivia Dozier and Gabriella Carollo also had hits for the Lady Wildcats. Jorja Carnes scored twice for the Lady Cats, and Halle Mills scored once.
Halle Mills took the loss for Lynn Camp as she allowed six hits and four runs while striking out five batters for the game.
Lynn Camp will square off against Lawrence County on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
