Knox Cty Sheriff Deputies Snag Shopping Bags Full of Marijuana from Thieves

On November 6, Knox County Deputies arrested Allen Smith (45) and Robin Smith (41), both of Barbourville, for charges related to a burglary and possession of large quantities of marijuana.

Deputies Jesse Smith and Scotty Wilson executed a search warrant at a residence on KY 229. As the deputies arrived, Allen Smith jumped out a window and ran into the woods. He was found a little while later hiding among the trees.

As search of the house revealed what deputies had expected, several items that had been stolen from a home on Bertha Hollow Road in Gray on October 22. They also found shopping bags filled with marijuana.

Allen Smith has been charged with Burglary-1st Degree, Criminal Mischief-1st Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police-2nd Degree and Trafficking in Marijuana-over 5 pounds.

Robin Smith was charged with Receiving Stolen Property and Trafficking in Marijuana-over 5 pounds.

Both are currently residing in the Knox County Detention Center.

The burglary investigation is being continued by Deputy Smith.
