On Thursday, December 16, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Department received notice of a theft that occurred at a business off West Laurel Rd, 1 mile west of London. After posting an image of the suspect vehicle, Facebook tipsters led police to a possible suspect and his location.
Deputies went to his location off of O Johnson Rd, 4 miles west of London, on Friday, the 17th, just after noon. They had information that there was a stolen vehicle at the residence and that the suspect was wanted for two felony indictment warrants. When deputies arrived, the suspect attempted to flee out the back door of the residence but was captured.
Brandon Gray (39) has been arrested and charged with a significant number of crimes: theft by unlawful taking $1000 or more but under $10,000; three counts of criminal mischief – first-degree; fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot; theft by unlawful taking – firearm; theft by unlawful taking – auto – $1000 or more but under $10,000.
He was also charged on a Laurel County Court indictment warrant for arrest for receiving stolen property - $10,000 or more. There was a second Laurel County indictment warrant for fleeing or evading police – first-degree – motor vehicle; criminal mischief – first-degree; resisting arrest; fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot; driving on DUI suspended license – first offense; reckless driving.
Gray was also charged on two Laurel County bench warrants: failure to appear in court on charges of fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot and failure to appear in court on charges of receiving stolen property under $500.
Gray is being held in Laurel County Correction Center, awaiting processing.
