According to Laurel County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Dylan Messer was dispatched on Sunday to a motel off Highway 770, where a man refused to leave the motel room he did not pay for.
When deputies arrived at the scene, the man reportedly refused to open the door and exit the room.
With assistance from the Southeastern Kentucky Regional Special Response Team (SRT), a search warrant was obtained for the room, and officers attempted to talk the suspect out by both loudspeaker and phone calls to the room.
However, the suspect still reportedly refused to exit, and SRT deployed gas in an attempt to get the suspect to exit, to which he still did not do so.
SRT entered the room and found the suspect propped up against the bathroom door, and took the suspect into custody without further incident.
