84-year-old man dies after being struck by vehicle in Williamsburg

An 84-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle in the Williamsburg Save-A-Lot parking lot.

Police say, Donald Brown, of Hwy 1804, was struck on Friday afternoon by a black Chevy Truck whose driver was backing out of the parking lot of the store.

Williamsburg Police, Williamsburg Fire & Rescue, and Whitley County Sheriff’s office immediately responded to the scene.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene by the Whitley County Coroner’s office.

Police identified the Chevy driver as Preston Philpot of Corbin.

Officer Chad Foley continues to investigate.

No foul play is suspected.
